What does my child need to play soccer?
Your child will need to wear shin guards during practice and games. Soccer cleats are acceptable, however, they are not mandatory. Your child will receive their jersey from their coach. If your child would like to wear a sweatshirt they can, as long as their jersey is on the outside.

What is picture day? When is picture day?
Each season, Merrillville Youth Soccer gives all of their players a free picture packet. The packet consists of 1 - 5 X 7, 3-1/2 X 5 Individual Photo, 1 - 3" Button, and 4 wallets. Additional photo products are available to purchase. Picture day will be the first week of the season. Your coach will notify you of your picture time.

Are soccer games ever cancelled?
Soccer can sometimes be played in un-comfortable circumstances, we cannot predict mother nature. Games WILL be played unless there is lightening!! We WILL play in rain and/or snow!!

When should I arrive for practices and games?
You should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time, especially on game days!!

Do we keep score in the games?
No we do not. Our In-house program is an instructional league for development of our players and for fun. Our Travel League keep scores and statistics.

What can I do to help?
We are always looking for volunteers to coach, to help with field maintenance. Please contact a board member if you are interested.
